And boy am I glad! This heat is getting to my nerves I'm afraid. I'm happy to stay in all day in the cool comfort of the AC, but my children are climbing the walls. Luckily, I got our teacher assignment this week and that has reminded me that a reprieve is around the corner. Helen and I will now be occupied with BTS shopping for supplies and clothes. She thinks Kindergarten is going to be great and I do too!
So we've tried to do some indoor entertainments this week. One of those was organizing her earring collection. I found this precious little owl earring tree on ebay last week. I snatched it up for under $5. With a little paint it was turned from drab to fab :) Helen is in her room loading it with jewelry as I type.

To pass the time I'm reading more. I'm back into the Twilight series for the second time. I'm on book three. Actually I'm almost finished. It's a good re-read. I missed so much the first time I read it from being impatient and moving forward to the conversations. What a great set of books these are!
This afternoon we were delighted with a 'weird' little animal expo. We were on our way grocery shopping when Helen spied a bat crawling on our kitchen window. She and her daddy are forever in front of the show "Animal Planet". She explained all about them and where they lived. She also hinted that we were lucky he didn't do #2 out there because it's really stinky. It's amazing what she picks up from the Discovery Channel :)
We had a playdate for inside entertainment this week as well. Kaelyn and Helen were a hoot. Those girls dressed up all the Barbie dolls, painted pretty pictures, and then did their toes in a rainbow of colors. I helped with hair and makeup. They both loved looking at themselves and each other in the large bathroom mirrors. It was so funny to hear them compliment each other.
Markus wanted to play along with the girls and was mad that he was kept out of Helen's room. So he improvised a sock explosion in his own domain. He had socks everywhere - Socks with cars in them, socks with Cheerio's in them, socks with things inside them that I'm still trying to identify. He cracks me up. Sadly the clean up for this took way longer than the 20 minutes that it kept him entertained.
He also picked up some Helen Habits this week. He built a tower out of blocks and brought it to me to proclaim wonderful. He pointed his finger and swatted at me as I tried to move in closer to his creation. "No Touch! You no Break!!!" he said. I know just what little girl taught him to yell that. I guess this is what siblings are really for :)
Helen occupied herself for 2 whole days making this paper doll. I can't quite recall her name because Helen changed it about every 2 hours. She made her clothes and bedroom slippers. She enlisted Chad to construct this paper girl a bed. Said paper doll also traveled all over Monroeville with us and went shopping in Walmart. Helen is so funny with the stuff she comes up with to entertain herself.
Well, that's about it. I'm packing up to go to Leigh's. I'm really excited about helping her out this weekend. I'm printing photos too for my scrapbook retreat with Adele. It's such a joy to have such good family and friends.Y'all have a happy weekend!

Oh Helen just cracks me up with that paper doll. Love the bed that Chad constructed for her! Now that sock explosion is too funny! Poor Markus...he needed Aunt Adele there to play with him.
Girl, you know I LOVE that earring tree. I might have to do some shopping on ebay after while. You definitely made it FAB from drab. Although, it was pretty cute in its original condition as well.
Tell Leigh hi and she is always in my prayers. Can't wait until the baby comes. Love all of you!
