LLH #5

belated due to a whirlwind weekend of fun but here goes:

Love:
Re-reading Twilight. I could care less if I ever met the stars of the movie, but I'd love a signed copy of any of the series by author Stephanie Meyer. Now there is someone who deserves my gratitude.

My cousin Allison is due any day to have her first beautiful baby. I'm so stinkin' excited. I don't have baby fever - better I get to start spoiling someone else's! :)

Toy catalogs. Yes it's that time of year again! I love to sift through the mail and find a great toy catalog. I just heard that Head over Heels is re-opening under new ownership too. I can't wait to start shopping for the holiday season.

Fall. Yes I love fall. The colors are starting to show around my home. I can't wait to get out in it this afternoon and capture some of God's beautiful masterpiece.

Dress Up. I bought a costume for myself yesterday. I will be going as a vampire princess with Helen and Markus on Halloween night. This is a first for us. Helen has been begging for years for me to dress up with her. I realize that it will not be too long before she's too cool or too old to Trick or Treat so I am making the most of this opportunity this year.

Free days. With the house kept impeccably clean by my mom over the weekend I didn't have to do much to get it back in order this morning. So I've grocery shopped and washed clothes instead which gets me a little further ahead than usual for my weekly routine. I think tomorrow will be a nice day for scrapbooking. Tonight will be watching a movie while emptying the ironing basket. Love it!

Knowing what I'm making for dinner and actually looking forward to the task. I'm going to involve Helen in the kitchen tonight. Chicken spaghetti is on the menu. This should be fun!

Laugh:
Markus: I want that my tummy? I got none.
Standard response when anyone is eating anything. The child is a bottomless pit.

Helen: What am I eating tomorrow for lunch.
Me: I forgot to get your backpack/lunchbox in our rush to leave on Friday so you are ordering lunch and snack time tomorrow.
Helen: Cool! That's gonna be so fun! What am I eating again?

Note to self. Remember to enjoy the mundane. If Helen can get that happy over the little stuff then so can you.

Reading others facebook updates. I just love hearing what is going on in my friends lives and laughing with them over what their kids say.

Leigh and her answering machine. She is a magnet for crazy folks to call her home number. I really think she missed her calling and should have been a stand up comedian. She could just start her show with the telling of her life story and have us all cracking up laughing. She is always so creative in venting her frustrations.

Hate:
Walmart for asking me to see my receipt upon exiting the store. Is this really deterring a hardened criminal who is stealing in plain sight this close to the door? No. It's just making my life more difficult as I search to find the correct receipt among the dozens laying in that dark abyss I fondly refer to as my handbag. Why am I spending more than my monthly mortgage note with a store who treats me like a thief? Hello Winn Dixie and other locally owned Monroeville area stores....you are about to start receiving my business.

Other moms who can't say something nice. Remember people you are responsible for your own happiness. If you are not happy with your life then please take that matter up with yourself and stop bringing everyone else down with your negative opinions. This just opens a whole 'nother can of worms on the topic of toxic friendships.

Cleaning the coffee maker. Really. This is a chore I loathe.

And lastly...

The Quote of the Week

Don't know yet if I will be making this a weekly deal but for what's it worth....

" I am not averse to cheap, just fugly. Now leave that used Circo on the rack girl and let's get over to the boutique section." ---- overheard in a consignment store recently.
